Kids crafts - How to make Play Dough

I had so much fun making this the other day for my son.



directions:
Take a pot and fill it with;
1 cup water
1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 1 / 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
food coloring of your choice - I use 10 drops per color or more to darken.

Place you water in the pot on low heat, next at all the other ingredients and stir for a few minutes until it gets thick and then shut off the heat. Once it cools down a bit taken it out of the pan. I roll mine into three ball shaped and then place them in a zip lock bag to keep the dough from drying out. I gave my children plastic knifes, a rolling pin and cookie cutters and they had a blast.

Colors that are in stock are;
White, Lt. Pink, Purple, Star Blue, Lavender, teal, Eggplant, Camel, Dusty Rose, Lt. Yellow, Red w/ Purple Mixes, candy pink and Aqua.

Brown and bright pink are not in stock and will need to be ordered and pre-paid, before they will send them out to be custom colored. Orders take two weeks once paid to arrive to the supplier.

Fold Over Elastic Headbands

Fold over elastic

This stuff is great for making headbands. It us usually made for baby diapers but is available in many colors. You can also find Zebra and other animal print designs.

Here is sample of one I made. I cut 13 inches of elastic glued the two ends together or you can sew them. I then added a 3/8th ribbon strap to it.
